This episode is sponsored by Syngress Publishing, read a book, learn to hack, and never have to pay for another coke again!

Listen to the question at the end of each show, then go to the Security Weekly blog and be the first to post the CORRECT answer to recieve a free copy of any in-stock book on the Syngress web site!

Last weeks winner was reid who stated the correct answer:

ethereal -b files:10 -a filesize:1000 -w foo.capture

from

http://www.ethereal.com/docs/eug_html_chunked/ChCustCommandLine.html

the only catch that i'm not sure of is the filesize. ethereal uses 1000 bytes = 1 Kb, not 1024, so it's conceiveable that 1 Mb = 1000 Kb and not 1024, but that piece i'm not quite sure of.

The fake question of "Name the actor who starred in Shaolin Master Killer (aka. 36 Chambers of Shaolin, Masta Killa). What style of Kung Fu does he practice? Bonus: What are his mandarin and cantonese names?" Ben comes up with the correct answer Gordon Liu, Hong Gar style Kung Fu, Chia Hui Liu, Ka Fai Lau / Ka Fei Lau / Ka-Fai Lau (has been sometimes credited with each of them).

This episode is also sponsored by Core Security Technologies.

Hi there, I found my way to your site a little while ago and have been keeping tabs on your weekly posts. I like the work you have done and couldn't help but notice your interest in wireless security :)

Anyways, InformIT.com just posted an article on Shared Authentication and the use of WEPWedgie. It might interest you...it might not! It is a part of the much larger wireless section of their reference guide, which I am slooooowwwwllllly building over time. After writing Maximum Wireless Security, I figured articles and updates were the best way for my short attention span...writing books is OK, but sheeesh...it takes a lot of time and focus. Also, this is better for the reader because it is available for free without a subscription or login.

If you think is valuable, please spread the word...if not, thanks anyways!

Thanks! And keep up the good work... Seth

Hey Paul,

Sorry for the delay - out of town for a bit.

The quality was beyond bad, couldn't hear a thing. Several others couldn't hear as well. My guess is on that show there were at least 10 or more who wanted to listen but gave up. I think people WOULD be interested. Perhaps a better medium may be worth looking into.

Hey... listened to last week's show, good stuff as always. I actually met Bruce Schnier in 2002, he likely wouldn't remember me, but I recall having a good chat with him. I think I'll email him and ask if he would do the show, that would ROCK.

Last thing. I downloaded Auditor (great tool), and it works, but I can't for the life of me get my card into monitor mode. The intel 2200 chipset won't work, and even my linksys wpc11 won't work either. It will see it after many attempts to pull it in and out, but then won't pick up an IP or anything. Have you any luck with certain cards? Any help would be appreciated.

Keep up the great work on the show. It's one of the rare podcasts I actually look forward to.

Mark
